Parma is a famous tourist destination for all music fans, the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini, place of formation of Renata Tebaldi and home to Carlo Bergonzi. In Parma, the passion for the art of sounds, for opera and Verdi’s opera in particular is in the air.
Every year the town is the scenery of the Verdi Festival, the Opera Season, the concert season and other major musical events.
The itinerary “Parma and music” is a journey to discover the places and the characters of the art of sounds, the life of Verdi and Toscanini, to discover the true spirit of Parma, a town that tenaciously keeps alive the memory of its traditions and of its illustrious past.
Visits to the Teatro Farnese, Verdi Monument, Teatro Regio, Arturo Toscanini Birthplace Museum, House of Music with the Opera Museum and House of Sound, Auditorium Niccolo Paganini. It is also possible to visit the Club of 27 and Paganini’s Tomb at the Villetta Monumental Cemetery in Parma on request.
