PASTA COOKING CLASS IN PARMA

Fresh homemade pasta making is a ritual that is handed down from generation to generation in Emilia. It is a childhood memory, a moment of celebration and conviviality with one’s family and friends. As with any traditional Italian dish, there is a recipe for every home made not only of ingredients but also of established habits and secrets. Its roots are in the history of the family, whatever shape of pasta we choose, tortelli, anolini, ravioli, gnocchi, tagliatelle, passatelli, maltagliati, strozzapreti or garganelli…

The tour dedicated to the discovery of Italian fresh pasta  can be customized according to the tastes, specific needs and available time. The experience of preparing fresh pasta is made in a farmhouse situated on the first hills of Parma. Starting early in the morning you can include a visit to the imposing Castle of Torrechiara, nestled in the center of a vast wine-growing area, continue with a visit to a winery to learn about local wines and finish with a pasta cooking class, preparing different types of traditional fresh pasta. The pasta cooking class is followed by lunch, during which the dishes prepared with the help of the chef can be tasted.

On request it is possible to include the visit to a Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Factory, a Prosciutto di Parma Plant or a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar Loft. For the more curious, we suggest the possibility of including a visit to the Pasta Museum and the Tomato Museum, situated in the beautiful medieval agricultural court of Giarola  on the right bank of the Taro river.
